1250 TTD Per Seat |
COST: $1,250.00
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Powerful and comprehensive legislation to protect employer and employee from serious hurt, injury and death as well as damage and destruction to machinery and plant exists for Trinidad and Tobago. The OSH Act of 2004 and its amendment in 2006 provides all of the mechanisms and legal requirements for safety, fire, health, welfare, etc.
This eight-hour course treats with the major elements of the law and its attendant regulations with the ultimate aim of ensuring that organisations remain or get compliant. In fact, all of the offences, penalties and legal proceedings are covered. Employers, including self-employed persons, do not want their employees to “refuse to work” due to OSH concerns as this ‘downtime’ can cost millions of dollars, even closure of companies. This course shall empower organisations and persons to get such matters right. There are several mechanisms set out to ensure that all OSH matters are adhered to. These include annual risk assessments, safety committees, etc. that are covered in this course as well. Other critical parts of the OSH requirements are accident investigations, notifications, the OSH Authority and their powers, etc. These form an integral part of this life-saving and indeed cost-saving course for persons and organisations. In this 8-hour course, you shall understand:
· Main elements of OSH Act that impact organisations including self-employed persons and occupiers · Legal requirements for organisations and employers · How to avoid Employees Refusing to Work · Main offences, penalties and legal proceedings · Safety, Fire, Health, Welfare matters · Annual Risk Assessments · Duties and Responsibilities of OSH Authority
