COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Many institutions face a wide range and number of crises and emergencies which can have high costs – financial, human, customer relations and public image - which can be detrimental.

Crises and emergencies can be small or large, within a department or organisation-wide, with few or many people, within organization or with external persons, physical or non-physical. The key is to have an appropriate and effective crisis and emergency management system fully in place which will include both preventative and responsive strategies.  As well, what happens after a crisis affects the organisation? All organisations should have an appropriate crisis and emergency plan so that when crises or emergencies occur, the operations of the organisation are not adversersely affected and kept running close to pre-defined levels.

In this timely and fundamental training programme, all persons will be empowered with the necessary tools to affect this integral component for all organizations.

Among the many issues to be tackled are:

• Types, nature and intricacies of crises and emergencies
• Steps in developing and rolling out a Crisis and Emergency Plan.
• Examples of Crisis and Emergency Plans – so you will see first hand what can work for your organization
