COURSE DESCRIPTION: A robbery not only brings business financial losses in cash or commodities, it can also lead to injury and even death. Robberies can also generate psychological sufferings of victims. It is of utmost importance that businesses place significant emphasis on training their front-line staff on how to deal with robberies as they are often the first to come face-to-face with such criminals.

This course, among other things, will tackle the various methods of Robbery Prevention that can be best utilized in Trinidad and Tobago’s society and for a variety of business operations – small, medium and large sizes. It will delve into how should such front-line staff Profile robbers/bandits that may attack their establishment. Critically, also, the course will cover what front-line staff should do during the robbery itself. What to do after a robbery will also constitute part of this course, for example, with regard to other staff, customers, the police, etc. In addition to touching on what the law states re robbery, the various types of robberies will be covered as part of contextualising the course to meet the our local situation.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to appreciate the role and importance of customer service and communication for the security sector, but more importantly, what he/she needs to do (or don’t do), to satisfy the customer/client in the best way possible.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a very essential course for all persons involved in the protection of buildings, facilities, communities, people, etc. It deals heavily with the development and implementation of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) solutions – both fundamental and cutting-edge solutions.

Urban planners, community developers, law enforcement, security companies, community groups, policy makers - all who are directly and indirectly involved in the protection of communities, organizations and people, this is a must-do course! This course is fundamental for all designers of security and public safety solutions. Prison and fire officers are also key to the protection of communities and citizens and thus training in CPTED strategies is critical.

Overall, CPTED is a strategy whereby long-term solutions to security and crime problems are devised from as early as the design stage. However, it also presents solutions for places that have already been developed. It takes into consideration how the environment can be used strategically to enhance security and crime prevention initiatives. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides participants with a strong working knowledge of key instruments in determining security vulnerability and risks. For instance, participants will be trained to execute on-site examinations and analyses of an industrial plant, business, home or public or private institution to ascertain the current security status.

It identifies deficiencies or excesses, determine the protection needed and make recommendations to improve the current security situation. More specifically, participants will be taught to gather the following risk data:

• Geography and climate
• Size and configuration
• Social and political environment
• Internal activity
• Physical safeguards
• Fire and disaster
• Controls
• Indemnity

Importantly, the course instructs participants on the mechanisms to conduct such assessments to realize optimum customer satisfaction and safety.
